7TH. VA. CO. E
Mustered into service in 1861 at Culpeper , Virginia as a volunteer fire-fighting corps, the unit eventually joined with the 7Th. Va. Volunteer Infantry. "The Boys" as they became known were involved in every major battle of the " War Of Northern Aggression". Although little is known of Company E , it is known that of the eighteen members that participated in "Pickett's Charge" at Gettysburg , four men of Co.E were killed in the cannonade prior to the charge. Of the remainder, two survived to return to Virginia. Sic Semper Tyrannus !
